The McDonald Family Trip
Tuesday Aug. 25th I received a call from Ramone Mcdonald Jr. asking me to take him, his mom and dad out on a fishing trip for his dad's birthday. He wanted his dad to enjoy his birthday catching Speckled Trout and having a good time on the water. We left the Lafitte Harbor Marina around 6:15am and headed south for Barataria Bay. The weather was almost picture perfect for trout fishing, the wind was calm, the tide had a good range and there was no rain in the forcast. When we arrived in Barataria Bay near Goverment reef we found ...
Another Great day in Lafitte
Friday Aug. 14th I fished with two guys Sid and Ramone from the New Orleans area. We left the dock at Lafitte Harbor Marina around 6:00am and headed south to Barataria Bay to try to catch Speckled Trout. The southeast wind was blowing at 10 to 12 mph and they had a pretty good chop on the water, so I decided to try the Port Sulfur area to start. We stopped at an island I like to fish on the east side of Barataria Bay, that has just about disappeared from the storms over the last few years. We caught 10 ...
Sidney and Ronnie’s Trip
Wednesday Aug. 12th Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Sidney from Riley,NC. We left the dock at Lafitte Harbor Marina and headed south to Turtle Bay/ Little Lake area to try and catch some Redfish. Sidney said he wanted to try his luck on catching a nice red. They had a few thunderstorms hanging around just south of us this morning, that kept us from going much futher than Hackberry Bay. So our first stop was in Turtle Bay on the south shoreline. The wind was fairly light from the northwest and the water was semi-clear, but we ...
John and Reggie’s Trip
Tuesday Aug.11th Today I fished with John Wisniewski from New Orleans area and his brother-in-law Reggie Sinclair from Mount Hutton, Australia. We left the dock at Lafitte Harbor Marina around 6:30am this morning, wanting to go out to Barataria Bay to try and catch a few Speckled Trout. But that was not in the cards this morning. There was a huge thunderstorm sitting right over the bay, it was raining and the lightening was pretty bad. So we decided to go to Little Lake area and try to catch a few reds till the rain moved off. But it did not ...
Catfish Brousards Trip
Sunday Aug. 9th I had the pleasure of fishing with a great guy Catfish Brousard from Toledo Bend area. We left the dock at Lafitte Harbor Marina at 6:00am and headed south to try and catch a few nice Redfish, and that we did! we ran and fished an area near Hackberry Bay that I have caught Redfish in the past. This is a shallow water marsh area where when the water is decent you can see the Redfish tailing in the grass. For the first hour or so we did not do very well, we watched the Redfish swim by ...
