Tuesday 28th of July

today I fished with Jewell Harris of Chicago, We left the dock at Lafitte Harbor Marina at about 6:30am and headed out for Barataria Bay in search of a few hungry Speckled Trout, Jewell has caught trout before but it has been about 20 years or since. So I was going to refresh his memory of what it is like to catch the again. On our first stop at Manilla Village, Jewell caught a few nice trout and we had a few Lady fish hit our baits as well, but not many trout. So I decided to try the Saturday Island Platform and it was not much better, a lot of lady fish biting and not many Specks. With the Southwest wind picking up from a few early morning thunderstorms, I decided to try the west side of the bay by a little island right behind Grand Isle, and this was the honey hole we were looking for, we caught our limit of 50 Speckled Trout and threw back atleast 50 that were too small. We were getting a bite almost every cast for awhile, untill the porpoises came in and ran the fish off. But we moved a few feet and started catching again. After catching out limit of trout, Jewell asked about catching a few Redfish. Well cathing is what we did, We boated 7 nice Redfish and lost a few at the boat before calling it a day and heading to the dock to clean a full box of fish. And as always this was New Orleans Fishing At Its Finest!

Thank you Jewell for booking your trip with us here at Crescent City Fishing Charters Inc. It was a great day on the water with you, And I look forward to doing it again in the future.
