Tuesday Aug.11th
Today I fished with John Wisniewski from New Orleans area and his brother-in-law Reggie Sinclair from Mount Hutton, Australia. We left the dock at Lafitte Harbor Marina around 6:30am this morning, wanting to go out to Barataria Bay to try and catch a few Speckled Trout. But that was not in the cards this morning. There was a huge thunderstorm sitting right over the bay, it was raining and the lightening was pretty bad. So we decided to go to Little Lake area and try to catch a few reds till the rain moved off. But it did not clear out all morning. We stayed in Little Lake all morning catching Redfish. The fishing was a little slow for the early part of the morning, with the wind near calm and the tide at slack, the Redfish did not bite very well. We watched many fish swim right by our baits, without as much as look at our lures. We did manage to put a few in the fish box before the tide started falling. After the tide started moving we caught some really nice Redfish. Reggie caught his first Louisiana Redfish this morning that was 28″ long and said he enjoyed the way they fight on light tackle. John, Reggie and myself Capt. Scott caught our daily limit of 15 Redfish. John caught a few nice reds as well. We managed to hide from the thunderstorms and stay dry all day, which was a plus for the way the weather started out this morning.
All the Redfish we caught today were caught on Black/ Chartruese tail Bayou Chub Minnows on a 1/4oz jighead fishing tight line.
I want to thank John and Reggie for booking their trip with myself Capt. Scott Poche and Crescent City Fishing Charters Inc. I enjoyed fishing with you and look forward to doing it again in the future.

We chartered Capt Scott this week to fish for reds. My brother-in-law, from Australia, had never been fishing in Louisiana before. Capt Scott did a fantastic job of finding the fish and showing why Louisiana is considered “Sportsmen’s Paradise”. We had a great day dodging thunderstorms and catching big reds. I highly recommend Capt Scott for anyone fishing out of Lafitte. I know I will fish with him again. Thanks again for a great day!
